You may have noticed that we have a new sponsor for the Henry’s Rod Shop blog this morning. Bikesure Classic Bike insurance is a highly rated and reviewed insurance provider in the UK. As I live in the US, I don’t have direct experience with them as a customer, but they have been awesome to deal with as we discussed how we could work together on a campaign.
They insure everything from classic Harley Davidson‘s, and Triumphs, old and new scooters and mopeds, to rare Ariels and even your custom bike. They also insure modern bikes; cruisers, sportbikes, and even the cool new Can-am Spyder!
Leave a comment about your experience with them, or other insurance providers!

- 1944 Diamond T Model 509 S
This past weekend I had to stop at Home Depot and pick up a new cordless drill and some woodworking supplies for an entertainment center project I’m starting on in my “spare time”. After loading up, I started driving out of the lot, and saw this Diamond T sitting there. I’m not certain it’s a 1948 or a Model 404, but after doing some research, that’s the closest match I’ve found. If you have a correction or know the owner, let me know!
This morning (4/23/2010) I got an email from Stuart Hungsberg, who built the truck pictured:
“I just happened on your picture of the Diamond T truck. Its a 1944 509 S , I should know I built it. They never made a 509 pick up; it has 8′ ford box sides and extra diamond T front fenders on the back. it sits on a 1/2 ton truck frame. I sold it to a guy about a year and a half ago, his name is Dale. Its good to see it on the net. Built by Stuart Hungsberg”
So there you have it!
I have a hard time turning my mind off, and because of this I have far too many hobbies; cars, motorcycles, programming, website design, woodworking, metal casting and welding all compete for my attention along with my family.
I’ve come up with a few ideas for websites that I thought had some entertainment value for me, and some commercial value as well. Most recently I worked on www.FastEdison.com, which was 90% built when I decided to look into pricing, and realized that although I had a good plan, the market was swamped with competitors who were good, cheaper, and more robust than I could afford to do since I was bootstrapping the business.
A couple months ago, I came across js-kit, and thought it was a great idea, heck, I even tried using it (in testing) for www.Denniskirk.com, but it just wasn’t working as I thought it should. I’m sure it’s fine for some folks, but I wanted a few changes. Thus brought about www.frevu.com, a review and rating tool for your website, which is free of charge!
It’s not finished yet, hopefully in a couple weeks though, and once it’s done, it’ll be full throttle ahead marketing it. This time I feel I’ve done due diligence looking at competitors, and thinking through a simple way to let users incorporate it into their sites. I think it’s a killer app, and I hope you do too!

I am just now finally getting around to going through my photos from a couple of car shows from this summer. One car that is a standout, was this 1932 MG Midget that was at the Motorbooks, Inc. “Wheels & Wings” car and airplane show in Osceola, WI this summer. I don’t have any details, but it’s a knock out!
