Well, I decided to draw an F-100 for fun the other day… basically, I copied one out of a magazine, and changed a few things. I think it turned out okay for a beginner…

More Volvo Photos
Well, we’ve had it for a couple weeks now… WOW! We love this car! It gets up and moves when you step on it, it rides great, looks perfect, and is very comfy. For some reason, after washing it, it immediately feels the need to attract all of the bugs in the tri-state area though… so it’s never really clean.
Here are some photos I took the other night:
Mmmm. Gotta love it.
Finishing Front Cab Corner Repair
Well, tonite, I kind of finished the front driver’s side cab corner repair. I say ‘kind of’, because, well, there is still more work to be done. I have to fabricate a cab mount, and put in one piece about eight inches by three inches, and do some finish welding, and grinding. But, the part that looks pretty, is… done! Whoohoo!
Here are some photos of the last couple days. I fired up my little cheapy sandblaster, and cleaned up inside the door pillar before painting and closing it up.
New Triumph Photos…
Well, I’ve been missing my triumph lately… and now Ed went and made some changes to the bike. I don’t necessarily like them all, but it’s still cool having had a hand in building a very nice bike! Here’s the before, that I really liked:
And here’s the changes… I like the front brake, I think it’s the one I gave him when he bought it, but I don’t care for the front forks… The old ones I shortened looked better on it.
MN Rat Rods, Traditionals MN, and MHRA?
Wow… alot of activity this week as far as car clubs/groups go! I bought the traditionalsmn.org domain, and tonite I loaded up Vanilla as a forum for the MN Rat Rods forum… Scott (Halverson… T-1 on the MNRatrods forum) and I are going to test it for a day or two, then if it works good, load it up live.
At the same time, another guy Adam is working on putting together a similar group called (for now?) MHRA. Sounds like he has a good plan, hopefully we’ll be able to join forces to do a better job of both organizing, and promoting traditional styled hot rods.
Back to work now… oh, and here’s a little picture of me being proud of my truck progress!
New car
We have been having much trouble with our Jeep lately, so we decided a while back that we were going to get a new car. We almost immediately settled on a Volvo S80, because of two things: 1. the safety of volvo’s is well known, and highly regarded, and 2. the size of the S80 was pretty much perfect for us, as a family.
We had looked at several over the last week or so, and found one yesterday that was pretty much perfect for us. There are a few blemishes, but no dents/dings that we could find. Just some rock chips in the usual places, etc.
It’s a 2001 Volvo T6 Executive edition, which means it has an auto-stick transmission, 268hp (if memory serves?) Twin Turbo engine, and is VERY fun to drive.
Here’s a quick photo from this morning… I forgot to take any last night:
